Graduate Program in Taxation

Full-Time Program

The Graduate Program in Taxation provides intensive training in federal taxation. Recent law school graduates, tax lawyers in the early stages of their careers and more experienced lawyers who have been practicing in other fields all find that the Program enables them to acquire a high level of professional expertise. The Program begins a week before the start of the Law School’s academic year with a series of workshops on tax research and on ethical issues in tax practice. Ethical issues are also addressed in each course in the Program. A total of 24 credits are required to obtain the LL.M. degree in Taxation.

To enroll as a full time student you must begin the Program in the fall semester. Applications are accepted and are considered as they are received. Applications will be considered only when they are complete. Completion of a law school course in Federal Income Tax, with a grade of B or better, is a prerequisite for admission.

To apply please submit a completed application, application fee (check or money order in the amount of $50.00 payable to the University of Miami), resume, personal statement, LSAT score, JD class rank, transcripts from all universities and colleges attended and two letters of recommendation.
